Two 5th year students from Coláiste Chú Chulainn spent 3 days in London on Net Éire and Cooperation Ireland’s ‘ Futures in Banking’ program in Morgan Stanley’s office in Canary Warf.
Among the activities were an employability and skills workshop with Alexander Mann solutions focusing on your social footprint and interview technique, a presentation from the Irish Deputy head of mission , Mr Gerald Angley. The boys also visited the trading floor in Morgan Stanley and were shown around by interns at the firm . They networked over lunch with young people working in the office discussing their career paths to their current roles. We were taken on a guided tour of Bloomberg TV Studio in Bank Street and visited the Roman ruins in The City. Day two began with a Project Management Exercise and the boys in their groups worked on a presentation which they gave to invited guests in the industry. A private tour of Buckingham Palace was organised for the group to finish off the day. This was the 10 year anniversary of the student Diversity Programme which brings students together from all walks of life to experience what career paths are open to them. Bean Ui Riodal has brought students from Coláiste Chú Chulainn on the program for three years now and students have benefited from the trip in having a clearer plan and making connections for the future.
