On Wednesday, December 4th, 5 Tolkien visited the local library to complete one of their key assignments as part of their Social Education class. At the library, they researched books and other resources on Dundalk's history. Rachael, Sarah, T.J., Briana and Holly found out lots of interesting information about the history of the Dundalk railway, the origins of Dundalk Football Club, the events happening in local GAA clubs over the last 40 years, the story of the sinking of the S.S. Dundalk and lots more. The students even got to look through the archives of the "Dundalk Democrat" and check out what was happening in Dundalk on the week they were born! It was a very worthwhile and informative afternoon and well done to all students for making it a very enjoyable trip.
